Covered by Forbes, Business Insider, TechCrunch and more, Dame Products‘ $7M Series A raise is making a splash as VCs see the light and invest in the sexual wellness space. Amboy Street Ventures is honored to lead this round and invest in Dame Products, the trailblazer of the industry, with participation from Listen Ventures, Flybridge, Echo, and Forest Road Company.
Dame developed female-focused pleasure products with clean, shame-free branding and found incredible product market fit through online channels. When the MTA would not allow Dame to advertise on the NY subways, it sued the MTA and successfully advertised over the past holiday season. Most recently, we are proud to watch Dame launch into mainstream retail introducing sexual wellness to Sephora, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Free People and more.
As the veil of stigma around sexual wellness is lifting, Dame is at the right place at the right time to meet the massive consumer demand.
“The sexual wellness market is growing by the day, which is amazing to see given the resistance we’ve seen in past years,” says Alexandra Fine, Founder and CEO of Dame. “We are so proud to be a part of an encouraging intimacy movement, and our hope is that our newest product, Dip, will open that door for even more people to get in touch with themselves.”
“Dame is bringing the sexual wellness category into the mainstream by plowing through industry-wide hurdles,” says Carli Sapir, Founding Partner of Amboy Street Ventures. “Sexual pleasure and wellbeing is arguably the most stigmatized subset of our space – and when that stigma is removed from sexual health and women’s health; research, funding, and solutions will pour into this underserved area. Dame is unapologetically dismantling shame around sexual wellness and, in doing so, has found incredible product market fit.”
Dame Products’ Series A round is the latest in our growing portfolio of companies at the forefront of social change in the industry including; Gennev, the digital health platform for women in menopause; Aunt Flow, free menstrual products for public and corporate bathrooms; Contraline, a medical device company providing long-lasting, safe and effective male contraception; and Dipsea, an audio erotica platform where sexual wellness meets storytelling.
