To our incredible founders, partners, and investors in women’s health,
Today, our collective work in women’s health is more critical than ever. The recent election outcome presents potential policy shifts that could reshape key areas of women’s healthcare. While these changes may bring new challenges, they also underscore why our mission—and each of yours—is vital to protecting and building the future of women’s health.
1. Access to Reproductive Health Services Needs a Voice
With new regulations likely impacting reproductive health services, it’s our responsibility to lean in with solutions that put women’s access, choice, and empowerment at the center. Currently, half of women in America live in a state where they face meaningful restrictions on abortion access. Innovators in telemedicine, mobile health solutions, and decentralized healthcare models—this is your moment to lead. Whether it’s providing information, teleconsultation, or creative care pathways, you are the architects of critical, accessible, and compassionate healthcare.
2. Championing Maternal Health
Policies under the new administration may affect funding for maternal healthcare, but that only deepens the need for innovation in this area. The maternal mortality rate in the United States is the highest among high-income countries. We must continue building solutions that support mothers through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Your efforts to provide high-quality, scalable maternal care matter now more than ever.
3. Health Education Empowers Futures
With pressures impacting sexual health education and funding, there’s a renewed need to innovate in how people access information about their bodies and their health. Today, over 90% of Americans feel unprepared by sex education. Founders, who are dedicated to breaking down barriers in sexual health education, awareness, and stigma, play a crucial role in empowering the next generation with the knowledge to make informed decisions. This work doesn’t just fuel education; it transforms lives.
4. Research and Innovation: The Pulse of Progress
Recently, the Federal Government enacted an unprecedented Women’s Health Research initiative which provides dedicated funding to address women’s health disparities and inequities. The possibility of future limitations on federal funding for women’s health research highlights the need for continued private investment. The rise of venture capital being dedicated to women’s health innovation must continue as only 0.4% of venture capital is allocated to women’s health explicitly. As leaders, we have the responsibility to champion breakthroughs in areas that have been historically underfunded— menopause & aging, contraception & abortion access, menstruation & hormonal health, maternal health & fertility, and other critical health needs. Every dollar and every ounce of effort toward these areas now speaks volumes for future impact.
5. Together, We Create Resilience and Choice
Most importantly, moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Each of you is part of a movement that stands for innovation, resilience, and the unwavering belief that women’s health is vital to our societal well-being and economic empowerment.
This is more than a mission—it’s a commitment to protect and uplift individuals across the country. Together, we are a community that moves forward, even when the path is steep.
To the founders: thank you for creating solutions that make healthcare accessible, effective, and compassionate. To the investors: thank you for fueling the future of women’s health. And to everyone who believes in this work: thank you for being the advocates, allies, and change-makers that this industry needs.
Our mission has never been more urgent, nor our purpose more clear. Together, let’s keep building the future of healthcare—one that empowers and protects everyone, everywhere.
In solidarity and optimism,
